Peachtree Golf Club
On Monday of this week I had the opportunity to play Peachtree Golf Club. Now this is a classic case of didn’t see the forrest through the trees. I didn’t realize how big of a deal it was to be playing this course until the day after when I mentioned it to a friend in my small group. I knew it was hard to play there, but he said it’s probably as hard as Augusta. I’m not really sure about that, but I got to tell you – it was awesome.
So I looked it up on the web. Here are some stats (some of these I did know): only 250 members, Inspired by Bobby Jones, build by Robert Trent Jones in 1947. One particular web site ranks it at 66th in the world.
So it’s safe to say it was one of the nicest courses I’ve ever played. Top five for sure. What’s your favorite course to play?

High Hampton in Cashiers, NC is pretty swanky. If I’ve gotta bring it back down to Earth, Dale Hollow Golf Club in Kentucky is beautiful… and reasonably priced.
I like your new blog! Are you writing this for Tyler? I click on your blog and the first thing I see is golf!
Favorite? Either Champions Retreat in Augusta or there are a few in Myrtle beach that were awesome. Sugarloaf is fun too.
Thanks Brian for the post – maybe one day I’ll get to experience those.
CR – I’m not writing for Tyler – although I know he wishes he would’ve been with me.
I have to agree about this course. I was lucky enough to play it on Thursday and it has to rate as the best course I have ever played. Not just in the States but period. Being Scottish I have been fortunate to play Carnoustie, The Old Course, Royal Troon etc and it is up there for the overall experience. Carnoustie is still without doubt the hardest course you will ever play anywhere but Peachtree is special. According to the member I played with they only have 200 members and only 70 play. So it is hardly overplayed.
